October Newsletter 2019

October Newsletter 2019

The month of October can be a spooky month, maybe even a scary month with monstrous problems. Yikes!! Well maybe not, but words like that seem to be popping up everywhere as kids and adults alike look forward to Halloween.

In fact, according to the USA Today, adults spend more on themselves to celebrate Halloween than any other day during the year. I get that. Especially if they want to hang out with the kids to go trick or treating, or to a Halloween party of some kind.

For many homeowners and home buyers though, they are truly scared.  Scared to death of how in the world they are going to get out of their house and into their next one (the trick).

My Treat: As a result of working with over 1,000 families over a 20-year time span, we have developed a special program to help home sellers and home buyers. We will guarantee the sale of their present home at a price agreeable to them and in the unlikely event their home does not sell, we’ll buy it. Now that is how you turn a trick into a real treat.

During October, many children love costumes, haunted houses, candy, and the chaos of Halloween, but for children on the autism spectrum, the holiday can feel overwhelming. From the type of fabric that a costume is made out of to the large crowds of kids.

Since Halloween can seem scary, The Almaro Team has come up with 4 steps to ensure that every kid has an awesome Halloween.

  1. Visualize: Show them photos and video and preview the route that you will take on Halloween night.
  2. Explain: Talk them through the social cues and research to answer any questions.
  3. Practice: Dress them in their costumes before Halloween and walk them through the route you plan on taking. Invite some friends to dress up and practice as well.
  4. Perform: It is the big night and you have to remember that it is all about having fun this October.
