Welcome to the month of April. By the time you are reading this, you will be deep into it. That means I can’t play any April Fool’s jokes on you, but I have never been a fan of those anyway. Aside from April Fools’ Day this month has a much greater significance to us. It is National Autism Awareness Month, a great opportunity to promote awareness, acceptance and to draw attention to the thousands facing an autism diagnosis each year.
People with autism and their families often have a variety of additional expenses required to meet their unique needs, and that is no April Fool’s joking matter. Everyone loves Spring, primarily because it means...Summer is near! Just like the weather seasons come and go, so do the seasons of life. When we least realize 5, 10, 20 years have come and gone. We are still on a mission to raise $10,000 to help the kids through the Rotary Club of Concord, Service Above Self. We help the kids by donating a portion of our income from homes we sell. As you know Rotary of Concord does great work in supporting activities, training and education through local community service, vocational service, youth service and international service.
Our local community service consists of: distributing around 450 dictionaries to 3rd grade students at Elementary Concord Schools, map painting, providing scholarships and supporting organizations such as: CC Food Bank, Salvation Army, Monument Crisis Center and RotaCare.
Our vocational and youth services work on mentoring students, ethical issues, youth exchange students, youth leadership and supports many other programs.
